Ek Chatur Naar, Love in Vietnam, Among Films That Flopped at the Box Office

Not every Friday brings success at the box office—some leave producers tallying up their losses. This week saw the release of several low-budget films, including Ek Chatur Naar, Love in Vietnam, Heer Express, Mannu Kya Karega, and Jugnuma – The Fable. Unfortunately, none managed to make an impact commercially.

Film trade analyst Girish Wankhede shared insights into why these movies failed to perform. While smaller films often face an uphill battle when up against bigger titles, even those in the same league can flop if critical elements are missing.

“These five films were complete failures at the box office,” said Wankhede. “Ek Chatur Naar managed to earn about INR 50 lakhs, Love in Vietnam just INR 6 lakhs, Mannu Kya Karega brought in INR 45 lakhs, Jugnuma only INR 5 lakhs, and Heer Express collected INR 55 lakhs. In many places, shows had to be cancelled due to poor audience turnout.”

He cited poor marketing strategies and the absence of any significant pre-release buzz as key reasons why audiences stayed away.
