De De Pyaar De 2 – Movie Review

De De Pyaar De 2 attempts to revive the charm of the first film by exploring modern love, generational conflicts, and the messy realities of blended families. This time, the story focuses on Ashish (Ajay Devgn) trying to move forward with his much younger partner Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh), while navigating the disapproval of her parents, who are almost his age. The premise sets up plenty of comedic tension, awkward family moments, and emotional conflicts.

What Works:
R. Madhavan steals the show with effortless charm and humor. His reactions to his daughter’s relationship provide some of the film’s sharpest comedic punches. Ajay Devgn brings maturity and subtle wit, while Rakul adds freshness and energy. The first half is breezy, filled with jokes, misunderstandings, and lively family drama.

What Doesn’t Work:
The second half slows down noticeably. Emotional scenes feel stretched, and the film becomes predictable. Conflict resolutions come too easily, reducing the impact. Some jokes feel repetitive, and the movie occasionally loses the grounded tone that made the original relatable.

Music & Vibe:
The songs are catchy, especially the upbeat party numbers. The film maintains a glossy, colorful feel that keeps things light and entertaining.

Verdict:
De De Pyaar De 2 is a fun, harmless family entertainer that works best when it leans into humor and avoids unnecessary melodrama. It may not surpass the original, but it delivers enough laughs and moments of warmth to make it worth a watch.
