Prahlad Kakkar recently shared that Priyanka Chopra was involved in a “serious relationship” in the past and explained why she chose to keep it out of the public eye. While he did not mention any names, long-standing rumours in Bollywood have linked her to Shah Rukh Khan, particularly after their sizzling on-screen chemistry in Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011).
In a conversation with Vickey Lalwani, Kakkar said, “Priyanka is a delight to work with—driven, focused, and extremely determined. She also carries herself with a certain grace and composure that prevents people from crossing boundaries. Throughout the talk about her alleged relationship, she never once made a public statement. While everyone else was speculating, she remained silent. That silence was powerful. If it had been a casual fling, she might have laughed it off. But clearly, it meant something deeper to her. It was personal, and she didn’t want it discussed in public.”
He also spoke about the challenges she faced early in her career. “Back then, Priyanka had some major hurdles. For one, her skin tone was darker, and she struggled with skin issues, which are still there to some extent. Her appearance had to be enhanced with makeup. On top of that, she wasn’t the typical petite actress—she had a more athletic, broad frame. To achieve the look she had in Dostana, she had to shed a lot of weight. She looked absolutely stunning in that film—no doubt about it. But she really had to put in a lot of effort. She’s naturally not a fragile-looking woman. She’s big-boned, so losing weight wasn’t just about slimming down; it meant transforming her entire physical presence.”
