December 2024 is really where things kick off and get serious, with a slew of nominations. Golden Globes are going to make their nominees public on December 9, and it will truly be the tone-setter of the season. Additional dates not to be forgotten include BIFA—the British Independent Film Awards—on December 8, and the European Film Awards on December 7.
The real drama happens in February 2025. The precursor awards to the Oscars, including the DGA Awards, PGA Awards, and SAG Awards, all take place within days of each other. The EE BAFTA Film Awards are going to have a hard time finding space on February 16th. Then, of course, there is the grand finale: the Oscars themselves, which go down on February 23rd.
