Afterburn (2025): A High-Octane Quest for Survival and Art in a Post-Apocalyptic World

Set ten years after a massive solar flare has wiped out all modern technology, Afterburn takes place in a chaotic, post-apocalyptic world where society has crumbled, and power belongs to those who can control what’s left.

The story follows Jake, played by Dave Bautista, a former soldier turned treasure hunter. He’s hired to retrieve one of the most valuable artifacts from the old world — the Mona Lisa — before it falls into the hands of a dangerous warlord.

Jake teams up with Drea (played by Olga Kurylenko), a fierce resistance fighter with her own reasons for joining the mission. Together, they travel through ruined cities and dangerous territories, facing gangs, rival hunters, and war-torn survivors.

Along the way, they confront not only physical dangers but also moral choices about what should be saved, what should be left behind, and what kind of world is worth rebuilding.

Samuel L. Jackson plays August Valentine, a self-proclaimed “King of England” who is trying to restore order — or at least his version of it — in the midst of the chaos.
