Aabeer Gulaal Movie, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, was originally scheduled to release in India on 9 May 2025. However, the release was postponed due to the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, which led to a surge in India–Pakistan diplomatic tensions.
Following the attack, several Indian film industry organizations, including major trade bodies, announced a boycott of Pakistani artists. Since Fawad Khan is a Pakistani actor, these groups publicly opposed the film’s release in India. They warned distributors and exhibitors against screening it and stated that any collaboration with Pakistani talent would not be tolerated.
As a result of this opposition and the sensitive political climate, the producers decided to hold off on the Indian release and instead released the film internationally on 12 September 2025. The film is now scheduled to release in India on 26 September 2025, once tensions have eased and the initial wave of backlash has settled.
