‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Sequel : Deepika Padukone is no Longer to be Part of This Film

Vyjayanthi Movies announced that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of Kalki2898 AD.

Deepika Padukone has officially been removed from the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. The producers cited “commitment issues” as the primary reason for parting ways with the actress. They emphasized that a project of this magnitude requires full dedication and collaboration, which they felt was lacking.

Reports indicate that Deepika had requested a significant fee hike, wanted to work limited hours daily, and demanded accommodations for a large entourage including luxury stays and meals. The producers tried to negotiate but couldn’t reach an agreement, which led to her exit from the film.

This development follows similar reported disagreements between Deepika and other filmmakers concerning working conditions and compensation. The Kalki 2898 AD sequel, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, is expected to begin production soon with a new lead actress to be announced.
