Jolly LLB 2: Akshay Kumar Steps into the Courtroom for a Bold Battle Against Fake Encounters and Legal Corruption

The second movie in the series brought in Akshay Kumar as the lead role of Jagat “Jolly” Kumar, a lawyer from Lucknow who, like his predecessor, is morally conflicted but grows into a more responsible and principled lawyer. In this sequel, Jolly fights a case involving a fake encounter, and the movie focuses more on the judicial system’s flaws and corruption. The villainous character, Suresh Awasthi, is now played by Anupam Kher.

Review:
The movie was considered a decent follow-up, and while Akshay Kumar’s performance was solid, many felt that Arshad Warsi’s Jolly had a unique charm that was hard to replicate. The film had a good blend of humor and drama, though it didn’t have the same impact as the first one in terms of its emotional depth. However, it still made strong points about systemic corruption and the importance of justice.
